the spirit lives on, even if it hides. forgive it, for it has had to. welcome it to safety if you can. let it welcome you if you cannot.

VISION: the vision of this project has been to create a collection of soulful transdiciplinary interactions, conversations of rememberance, and love letters that speak of the oneness of life and death. a lot of words for something that is ever so present.

please watch video at a higher volume I curated everything perfectly BUT the audio (volume!! the syncing is still pretty good for a first time ever making a video edit,,, let's get me on a turntable fr we need more nonbinary non-white lesbian dj's)

short video compilation of how my spirituality lives on today as influenced by different elements that ultimately all revolve around keeping memory alive, and in doing so, cheating the loss aspect of grief and death. there is also small clips of the places in colima i most miss. video features a personal tarot reading carried out by Starr Donatien (capricorn cunt/ @celesitial on twitter/x)

after my grandmother died in 2021, and when I returned to the US after her funeral I made this graphic from photographs i took over the trip to show my therapist, Yobiel Kelati LCSW, that i was "on track" to cope and get over the belief that grief is cyclical. shot 1 represents denial, shot 2 represents shock, shot 3 represents acceptance, shot 4 represents bargaining and shot 5 represents anger. all in black and white because I debated on sharing them as artwork of mine, but knew I wanted to keep the colors and beauty of the land a secret.

poem about the body as a a territory that holds memory and must be protected the way land is, that i made for my queer indigenous histories in the americas class over summer of 2024, overlayed on a photo of the river/creek that once provided sweet relief and cooling from the hot and humid afternoons in Ixtlahuacan. now, due to climate change and the exploitation of land, it remains dried up most of the year and floods everything around when when the new increasingly consistent hurricanes come. both in conversation with each other as the poem is about generational trauma, cptsd, and chronic pain. the disabling of the land is the disabling of ourselves sooner or later.
